Looking for a cheap car camp in central mass for this weekend

I'm planning on meeting a friend this upcoming weekend for some gear testing. We were hoping to car camp at a state park but they seem to not be open yet...

Anyone have tips or leads on some good early season camping?

I don't know of any public or private campgrounds in Central Mass that open before mid-may. The closest place I know that is open in April is Briarlee in CT.

Check some of the private and KOA campgrounds. Many open April 15th.

Thanks a bunch for the replies, I think we are going to have to go a bit further west than we wanted and camp at the DAR. Anyone know if the roads and sites are clear of snow?

Ever thought of Bigelow Hollow SP in Connecticut? It's right on the border of Mass, a few minutes from the highway?

It's free, you just have to call & let them know. Unfortunately, they don't have any car camping sites, but there are a few spots that are a15-20 minute walk from the parking lot. Worth a shot?

Nothing seems to be cheap in Mass.
