Anyone used a Ticket To The Moon hammock?

    Hello there all,
I have recently been looking for a Northwoods Wolf hammock for my girlfriend with no luck. Ive decided I will probably order a Darien to her spec from Papa Smurf but in the meantime wanted a simple hammock setup for her to just hang out around my house that will be suitable for a backpacking trip or two before hers comes. Then it'll probably just become the yard hammock.

I was just wondering, anyone here owned a hammock made by Ticket To The Moon and if so what are your thoughts? Comparable to an Eno?

I have often wondered about them as well. From their advertisements it would appear that they are easy to hang in inaccessible locations ;-)

I owned two TTTMs; first a single, then a king size. I think they don't really differ from any of the other parachute hammock sellers. To me it looks as if all these hammocks are manufactured in the same place which then sells it on to the different companies.

The material is certainly nice, but I was never able to get as comfortable as in my "proper" camping hammocks. Maybe it was the size (both were on the short side), maybe it was the channel end (all my other hammocks are whipped), I don't know. I ended up selling them. For an indoor hammock, I currently use the WL Night Owl, which is very comfy. I have a BIAS Lite Hiker on order and am looking forward to testing it out.

If you don't want to spend that much money, check out all the different parachute hammock sellers, and buy the longest. Maybe also think about buying a Brazilian hammock. If it's only for indoor use and weight is not an issue, you can't get anything more comfortable. My only gripe with my Brazilian hammock is, that I'm not able to get a flat lay when using an underquilt. There seems to be too much friction between the materials, which causes the hammock to curve. Without an underquilt it's divine.

Maybe I have the terminology wrong, but here is how I understand it: the channel end is just a sewn channel. The cord simply runs through the channel. With a whipped end, the hammock is bunched up and then the cord is fixed around it. Depending on how the hammock body is bunched up, the lay can vary distinctly. A lot of hammocks have a sewn channel, but then are also whipped. But it's the whipping that decides how the hammock feels.

If I need netting I use my Hennessy.

If I don't need netting I use my Ticket to the Moon single....

I think it should be comparable to an Eno (not sure) and many other parachute hammocks around.

These simple, cheaper hammocks are about length, width, colour and the type of suspension you want/use. Of course price and availability.

I mean maybe somewhere in the (near?) future I will try and get a nettless hammock that is comfy and lighter but cost me a bit more from one of the vendors here....

    Hope this helped a bit.
