One night hike and camp suggestions along I-65 in TN

I'll be driving to Pensacola this week and am looking for a place to hike in a mile or so and camp for a night. A loop would be really nice because I'll have plenty of time hike the following day, but won't be leaving Indy until early evening.

I'm coming from Indianapolis on I-65. I'd like to not drive more than an hour out of the way. I've got far too much to do to research all the options myself so I thought I would ask my favorite group of online lads & lasses.

    So any suggestions?

    Thank You
    Cory

Oak mountain state park has some good trails and is only about 1 mile to the front gate off I-65 food for thought. They have a few backpacking sites one of which is only about a mile to a mile and a half hike in and is part of many loops that will give you a nice hike.

My bad I didn't read it right oak mountain is in alabama on I-65.

Long Hunter State Park, barely east of Nashville

Montgomery Bell State Park, about an hour west of Nashville

Walls of Jericho on TN/AL border. Hike in from AL trailhead is the shortest.

Other than those, I think, you'd have to drive more than an hour from I-65.

Thank you for the suggestions abc and Rain Man. Alabama may not be too far. How far south we make depends on how tired we get. Really just need a place to sleep and a place to waste time the following day. What better place than in the woods?

I'm looking forward to learning more about the recommendations.

This is more for all of hammockforums in general, but what a great group here. Most helpful and knowledgeable I've found on the web for outdoors advice.
