    Who Needs Trees!

I was playing with a way to hang in the backyard. It seemed to work.

If it gets you outside, it works!!! Good stuff.

    trees

    I do not need trees.
I sleep in my hammock low with my butt touching the ground so I can fit into my regular 40" high tarp pitch.
I need 2 tie outs at the head and 2 at the foot.
I tie to anything I can at ground level and that includes a sturdy tent peg.

If the peg is driven into frozen ground it doesn't have to be a large peg.
Surplus military angle type aluminum tent pegs will hold in unfrozen soil.

Is that stand connected in the middle, or are you using those posts as stand-alone entities?

    The end posts only.

This is my indoor stand and it was the right length for my HH. The rain fly was just a bit long, but I made it work.

Wait, I think I read your question wrong: The stand is one piece, I believe like a Vario stand. It is free standing and quite stable.

    Who Needs Trees!

The comforter is covering the horizontal beam, in case the setup failed.
