Jeff Kindy, I was almost directly across the river from you. We had the sweet spot on the river bend. Did anyone get hurt from the falling tree?

We dubbed it camp deer poop.
That is awesome to find out that I now know who was across the river from us! LOL We had so much deer poop it was unbelievable! There was a spine and half a pelt from a deer about 50 yards from my hammock.

A HF Flag is a good idea! Saw a lot of dogs. I remember 1 or 2 Huskies with a red backpack. I say two because the first one I saw was with a family with a child, the second there was not a child? The first was camped across the road from us near Upper River Trailhead. Red car? Anyone?

No one got hurt from the tree, but I pretty much watched them fall!

I was up there too last weekend and I must have passed most everyone who posted. I was going clockwise from the NCT trailhead and couldn't believe how many people were there. 20 minutes in I met michiganhiker camped along the trail. Later on I know I saw the couple with the dog and the large group with kids. I ended up staying on the north side of Eddington creek back in the pines my first night. Sunday I headed up and around and worked my way back to the car. If anyone saw a solo hiker with a green rei flash62 pack, blue trekking poles and a Columbia (or Life is Good hat depending on may mood), that was me.

Maybe we need to develop a secret hand sign to denote "I'm a hanger and proud of it" when passing our fellow brethren on the trail
