So its been some time since I've been here. I was thinking of selling My Hennesy ASYM zip Explorer and getting the newer Ultra light version. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am just looking to save the weight, no other reason. Thank you.

How much for the explorer?
I have the hyperlite, I really like it. the hyperlight is a better fit for my body. However I am short. I am thinking about selling my other two Hennesseys. I will give each one a try and make sure which one I want to sell, before I put them on the market.
I find the Explorer difficult to get out of the Hyperlite I just pop right out, it is just a better fit, for my body, the weight reduction is an advantage, but not of value to me.
My Explorer is like a pair of winter boots, big and heavy, protective. The Ultralight is like a pair of sandals, light and breezy.
The Hyperlite is smaller, check the measurements on the Hennessy site. The weight was worth the change from an Expedition for me. Little reductions all add up.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
I'm in the same boat... I would like to switch to the hyperlight or ultralight.
If anyone in interested in selling theirs please get in touch with me. I too currently have the Expetiditon but looking to shed those 20+ oz's
I like the Ultralight, I found the hyperlite to short for me. I'm only 5'10, but the Hyperlite was too short. I love the Deep Jungle XL, it is the same material as the hyperlite. I love it. It is not light weight though, since it is a double layer hammock.

Just so its known the Hyperlite and UL Backpacker are the exact same hammock, just made from a different fabric. The ULB is made from 70D nylon taffeta, and the HL is made from 30D high tenacity, high thread count nylon taffeta with heavy duty ripstop.
Both are 100x48, both have a height limit of 6ft, both have a weight limit of 200#
See here and click on specs for details- http://hennessyhammock.com/catalog/#hammock

IMHO you would be better off going with a Dream Hammock from PapaSmurf, you could get a Darien Hammock made from 1.1rs at about 16oz (give or take depending on width and suspension chosen) for less than the HH.
Price of a HH Hyperlite Zip with 48" straps is 180$ (this is hammock and suspension only), weight is around 28oz
Darien is 125$ for a 10ft model with suspension, weight is around 16oz
Thats a 12oz savings, and a 75$ savings.
So the money saved could be spent towards a better tarp, when you add in the money you get from selling your other HH you should be able to get a pretty decent tarp.
Just my $0.02 and as always this was JMO and has nothing to do with the quality of a HH as I own 3! Here is a link to Dream http://www.dream-hammock.com/Hammocks.html

+1 on the Darien. Good info, Yoda.
What is the weight limit on the Darien UL? I did not see it in the specs. . .
