    Greetings from Oregon!

Hi, I finally joined the forum today. I've been using a hammock for about a year with a "budget" setup. Currently I own a Grand Trunk backpackers hammock and ENO Doublenest. Using a pad but planning to purchase an AHE New River underquilt in June. Eventually I will need a more serious tarp as well.

I think my interest in hammocks was sparked by a rough night on the ground in the woods and the backpain that followed.

Interested in learning more about ridge lines, whoopie slings, etc. But mostly I just enjoy any chance I get to use my hammock in the Great Pacific Northwest!

My name "CannonBeach" refers to the little coastal town where I live. About 90 miles from Portland and 30 miles from the Washington state boarder.

    Welcome aboard!
Lovely area you are in. Not sure if Ecola SP allows hammocks but man would that be a great place for them.

For your tarp... And knowing the PNW some... I highly recommend the SuperFly for ya. It would give you great coverage and the ability to keep the weather out when needed (you know, those days the beach balls go flying sideways).

Hope we get to see some pics

I spent a great night on Tillamook Head which is part of Ecola State park. There is a great trail which starts in Seaside and runs about 8 miles over the head to Ecola State park and then into Cannon Beach. At the top of the head is a "hikers camp" with three rustic cabins and plenty of places to set up a hammock.

One of these days I want to find a secluded spot of coastline and set up the hammock with a view of the ocean. I'll definitely post pics!

My wife and just reserved a site at the State Park in your town. I plan on brining my bridge and xlc and see which one I like sleeping in more. Welcome to the forums.

Kind of funny. I've been posting on forums for years. None this friendly though. You are all much nicer than my HR forums and not nearly as opinionated as my lever action rifle forums.

    Thanks for all the welcomes.

    Welcome from Eugene!

In the event you haven't yet seen this, there's an Oregon hang in August, not far from you (link below). My wife and I plan to be there. Would be great to meet you and everyone else who attends!

I also found the people here are generally awesome. Even when there's disagreement, everyone stays awesome while discussing it! How cool is that?

    Cheers and welcome to HF!
