    A few questions

What are the dimensions of the mammajamma? Will it work well with two hammocks? I'm a fair weather camper. I'm also considering the maccat deluxe and ultra.

Is the green taffeta more durable than the gray ripstop.

How well will two BBs work under one tarp?

tarps come in black sil or blue sil. i believe the mj is 6-8" wider than the delux as well as being wider/longer along the bottom/ground edge.

somebody just posted the other day about using 2 hammocks under it, i think in the "best tarp for a bb" thread

I was the one who used two blackbirds under the mj last weekend. The trees were pretty much a perfect setup for dual-hammock hanging, two pairs of trees, each pair a couple of feet apart, so the two hammocks were nicely parallel and close together. I strung the mj from the foot tree of one hammock to the head tree of the other hammock, and used four hiking poles at the corners.

I wouldn't want to use this setup in a heavy blowing rain, but the forecast was for clear skies, so the tarp was mostly for a wind break and backup in case there were some drizzles. There was just enough coverage to squeeze both hammocks underneath it.

I'm curious, did you stake both BBs out? How do you like the MJ?

Yeah, I staked both BB's out. We hung them facing opposite directions, so the head end of one was at the foot end of the other. This was primarily to make it so the zippers would both face out, and make it easier to get in. With both hammocks hung, there was maybe a two feet of space between them, so we staked the inner sides (shelves) in that space.

I like the MJ quite a lot - I plan to use it as my go-to tarp for most weather. It's got all the quality craftsmanship of the blackbird. Even in pretty cool weather, if you only use it with a single hammock, it's wide enough to stake it low to the ground and get some pretty good wind protection, even without doors.
