Adventure Tarp 2 by Terra Nova

    Hello from North Carolina

First post here, been browsing the forums a few weeks.
Have not found a post on this.

    It size is 9'6" x7'10"
    weight is 1.5lbs

Does anyone have one of these tarps?
    Do you like it?
    Does it keep you dry?

Is there one in the same price range ( $54 ) that you would recommend over this tarp?
Not really worried about weight, just to stay dry, and protection from the sun.

    Thanks in advanced.

For a hammock that tarp would have to be set up in diamond configuration. From the size and weight it sounds like it is PU coatd nylon. Take a look at the Kelty Noah tarps. If you do want to go lighter weight tarp and switch to a silnylon tarp the Wliderness Logics Tadpole is a god choice for an extra $30.00.

    Welcome to the forums!

Not familiar with Adventure Tarp 2. You Might want to compare tarp Sizes, Weights, and Bulk (when packed), as well as strength of guyline tieouts with some of these popular smaller tarps:

You'll find others just as well made here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...isplay.php?f=2

    First...

Are you car camping ? then weight is not an issue

Are you backpacking ? then weight is an issue

That tarp is heavy for its size and a bit on the small size. I would want something bigger

If you are car camping then look at at the Gear Guide 11x11 ft tarp at Sportsmans Guide http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/...aspx?a=1148204 $33

The big tarp is the Gear Guide 11 x11
The camo tarp is a Mosquito Hammocks Camo Diamond 9ft x 12ft
The dark tarp is a Big Mama Jamba from Warbonnet w/132" ridge line

The pictures give you an idea of the difference in coverage. The Adventure Tarp is smaller than the Mosquito Camo Tarp in the picture.

I would be mostly car camping at first.

I will look at those tarps.

    Thanks for you replies

I like the tad pole, the edge and the mosquito hammock.
