I was planning to go for the three-season yeti, but don't plan to take it into that 10 degree crazyness. If we ever go that low, we'll just add some pads - we've got a selection to choose from
My butt was the only thing that got cold at 10 degrees with the DAM Duluxe 9. I had my large tarp staked close to ground with wind end shut. I'm going to try a sit pad under my backside the next time and see how that goes. Cheaper and easier to pack.
Something else to consider. All JRB Quilts are compressible far below their manufacturers listed stuff sack dimensions. I would speculate that JRB has developed their current stuff sack sizing based on longevity of the product with due concern given to over compression of down. That being said .... if you so choose.. you can get any JRB quilt down to about half its listed volume if you are practiced in the art of compact rolling and utilize 4-point compression sacks.
For example, even my huge Katahdin quilt can stuff smaller than the standard full length exped downmat rolled up.
When packrafting or kayaking, volume is my greatest enemy. I have on many occasions compressed my JRB quilts way beyond typical stuffed dimensions. So far no long term loss of loft to any of the quilts. I baby them as much as possible and try keep the time they are super compressed down to an absolute minimum. When I get to camp, getting my quilts out and lofting is a high priority.
I also find that after a few weekend trips under super compression a quick 20 minute roll in the dryer with some tennis balls on no-heat setting really helps get the full loft back into the quilts.
Haven't got my hands on the Yeti yet, but it sure looks sweet too.

Ya the tennis ball trick even seems to work well on synthetics.
I've decided to put off the UQ decision until Brandon is making yeti's again, so won't have to worry about that for a while.
I am, however, hoping to pick up a bigger coverage tarp pretty soon. I'm trying to decide whether the extra coverage of the 10x12 is worth the potential extra hassle setting it up, and also the extra weight in the pack.
And if I do go with one of the 11x10 options, whether the JRB or speer models would be better suited for occasional two-person hanging and overall variety of pitching options.
