Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
Matt is out (due to wife's family emergency), so no spaghetti.
I will still bring the garlic bread and Caesar salad fixings.

ya'll have fun. I hate that me and nut sack had to leave but duty calls. I wish we could have met more of you. We enjoyed meeting Neo, Johnny (eze?) and Steve. The campground is awesome.

Well, talk about an organic (living, changeable, flexible) weekend! Matt says he IS coming, though just for dinner, and will bring the spaghetti.
I got up early this morning, loaded my little truck full of gear, kayak, food, etc., kissed the dear wife "Goodbye," and hopped in my truck to hit the road. Alas, ... would not start and gas poured out from under the gas tank. Called the garage and now AAA has just pulled out of our driveway with my truck on board. Probably a busted fuel line.
Needless to say, I will not be kayaking today (called Neo and told him already). But if Matt will have me, I'll ride down with him for dinner and will still bring the salad and garlic bread.
So, hope to see you this evening, but only for dinner. No over-nighter.

Gotta say, the Saturday evening pot luck dinner last night was one of the best! Turtle2's sloppy joe mix of venison and buffalo and sour kraut was amazing. Fluffy's chili was wonderful, especially as a counterpoise to the sweetness of the sloppy joe mix. And Matt's spaghetti was just right.
I won't mention the Caesar salad, since there was nary a bit of lettuce left from the four bags, and I think someone may have licked the bowl clean! And the garlic bread was, with a dear helpful volunteer, toasted to perfection over the campfire. YUMM.
Oh, did I mention the folks were as good as the food?!
Sorry I couldn't stay the night, but am glad Matt let me tag along and ride down with him, as I had no functional vehicle of my own. But the shop says it'll be back in my hands Monday or Tuesday. The report is that some critters had made their own meal out of the fuel line.
