Ill have to give this a try then.
here are a few pics of the HH attachment method
and the link i used to replace it
i realize most of you are switching to AMSTEEL to save weight & my method adds the weight of the stainless steel ring(my slip stop/attachment point)
the continuous loop or dog bone would work w/o the ring but you might have to add a BINER to keep it from slipping back into the cover
otherwise, all you need is that extra length of WHOOPIE, between the 2 burries to accommodate for the HH attachment method
hopefully, the pics will help dispel some of your anxieties
whichever method you choose should keep you busy for an hour or 2 & make your SYSTEM your own
good luck & HAVE FUN, in the process

My $.02 from experience, if you are using snakeskins...remove the stock suspension first. Then to get an idea of the length of the fixed eye to the bury, thread your Amsteel like you would be attaching it (having your fixed eye made will make this easier), then thread through the snakeskin and snug the snakeskin down to the hammock...mark on the amsteel where "tail" should come out of the bury and maybe give yourself an extra inch.
I ditched the notion of having the tarp attached to my suspension, but when I went to put on the snakeskins I didn't have enough length on the whoopie to be able to get to the whoopie adjustment. Like I said, my 2 cents based on my experience; I did the above on my son's scout and it came out perfect. And yes...I have OCD issues.
I appreciate all the advice. I'm gonna have to see which way works the best for my needs.
