    Opinions on HUG bug net

Hello from Iowa! I was considering ordering the HUG bug net from Arrowhead Equipment but am still a bit worried about having my lower body exposed. I do sleep with a top quilt almost all the time but I wanted to know if any owners of the bug net had any problems with bugs getting into the bug net. Also if there might any problems with bugs getting into the footbox of the quilt. Any thought and opinions of the HUG would be very appreciated! Thanks

I've made quite a few, and hung in my back yard with one...

I treat my net with Permethrin... haven't had a single bug even come near it.

Re: Opinions on HUG bug net

Mine have worked pretty good so far. I haven't had them out with large amounts of mosquitos, but it has kept bugs off of my face and hands.
For the quilt, I just tie the extra cord around the outside of the gathered area. As long as I keep it tucked in around me, I'm in good shape.

I flop around too much for this to work for me. Plus, spiders could still crawl on me. A fronkey bug net treated with permethrin works much better.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

I don't really like having any of myself exposed when I'm going for protection, whether I have a sleeping back or underquilt or whatever. I also move a lot when I sleep, so I don't know how well the HUG style net would "seal" around me with all that movement. I have my DIY top entry net that has always worked just fine
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

Thanks for all of the great comments. I did finally order the HUG bug net from Arrowhead Equipment and it came yesterday and I love it! I am rather short and it covers to my mid thigh. I found that there is enough material to "tuck" around you and get a proper seal. The sewing from Arrowhead is top notch and I am excited to test it on my trip coming up this weekend! Thanks again!
