Wow, that's pretty impressive just four or five months after ACL surgery. I hiked a couple of miles last week (with no pack) and my knee was screaming, so I wasn't sure I could do six miles in and six miles out with a 20 lb. pack. My MCL tear was Grade 2 and sometimes it heals enough to give you stability, sometimes you need surgery. I'm hoping this trip points the needle towards the non-surgical route.

SilentOrpheus mentioned Tinkr several times and I had to be reminded who Tinkr was. I don't remember you having a handle at the NJ Winter Hang, but what with the Alzheimer's . . . .

Sorry I missed Spring MAHHA - I was gonna designate you as official "Help SilvrSurfr find his hammock" friend! Look forward to seeing you at upcoming hangs!

Gonna increase my mileage in the Pine Barrens and make sure the knee holds up, then I should be ready to tackle the AT in NY with you. We might even talk SilentOrpheus into joining!

    Certainly a possibility.

Though now, a day later, my legs are crazy stiff and achy. But it didn't kick in until a few hours ago. Strangely delayed.

Silvr - just a thought - i was having tremendous stiffness in my non-surgical knee. turns out there was a lot of fluid in there so the doc aspirated it and gave me a steroid shot. instant difference! no more pain! i had no idea something else was going on. get your knees checked up if you have any discomfort. i'm hoping along with you that "signs point to yes" in your recovery! (i just consulted my Magic 8 ball!)

Nope, in fact he's trying to convince himself that hammocks suck. He's a stomach sleeper, so maybe he'd like a bridge hammock. However, I just find it hard to buy a bridge hammock for someone who thinks hammocks suck. Blasphemy!
