    Ridgeline organizer design questions

There have been several indicating interest in ZQ making ridgeline organizers. I have one that suits my needs but wonder if there are other design ideas that should be considered. Mine is designed to keep track of small "carry in my pocket items". Here is what I'd like to know. Overall dimensions needed, best material to make them from, colors, and how should they attach to the ridgeline. Mine was sewn over the ridgline as the zipper mod was done. Velcro? Snaps? Let me know what you think. Ultimately we will have to make a decision from the feedback we get and come up with a design.

Overall length is 26", 4- 6" wide pockets that are 5" deep

    Thanks for the feedback.

Mine is about 14" x 9" ... mesh with a velcro flap to attach to the RL. One end (towards foot is sewn all the wat up and the end towards my head is stitched about 4" up the open .. then stitched at top. That way I can slip in a water bottle without sitting up all the way. Love having one for my book, water, cigars, light, lip balm, mojo, socks et al....
    Very handy.

    Hey Shug,
Do you think the mesh is holding up well? Versus a nylon or ripstop? I like the idea of being able to see through it, but on the other hand, a dark color ripstop would "hide" your wallet!

A good mesh that can be used is plain Organza. It is available at most fabric stores in either nylon or polyester.

We get the nylon organza in white from JoAnne Fabrics using their always available 50% off coupons. With the 50% coupon, it runs $4.00/yd

The plain nylon organza we get is 0.8 oz/sq yard, about the same weight as the nanoseeum TeeDee got from Thru-Hiker way back, but a lot less expensive and only Sales tax which is usually less expensive than s&h.

We've stopped buying noseeum and now just use the organza unless we really need black.

So far it has been on many trips and is holding up great. It is no-see-um netting from Ed Speer.
