    My new old thread injector

Does anyone have a manual for a Dressmaker Deluxe push button zig zag SWM-1000? Or just a link to where I can buy one? I tried looking and all I can find is a SWM-2000 which I'm sure is similar but I don't want to spend 10 bucks on a manual I won't really be able to use. I also found a deluxe push button zig zag but the pictures don't seem the same. Please help

You can join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vintag...ewingmachines/ and get the SWM-2000 manual in the files section.

If you don't want to join the group, I downloaded the file for you. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send the manual.

Nice, I have come to appreciate the older injectors more and more.

Did you join the yahoo group and get the manual?

That machine looks pretty similar to a lot of 50s/60s machines. If you can find somebody who knows how to sew, they could figure it out quickly.

What do you need to know?

Thanks! I joined and found the manual for the SWM-2000. I have the SWM-1000 but they appear to be very similar. Does it take a special machine to do this?

My guess is 'Yes'- perhaps a serger? . However you can overcast fabric edges with a lot of 'regular' sewing machines.

If you are making DIY gear, you probably would want to do a cleaner job on your seams than that, anyway! (Rolled seam or bound edges).

"you probably would want to do a cleaner job on your seams than that, anyway!" LOL! I'll pass that on to Outdoor Research
"Rolled seam or bound edges" ? looks like I need to do a little more research before I just decide to set down and make myself a bishop bag!

    You should do that!
What OR product is that? (Perhaps it's a heavy material that can't easily have a rolled seam???)

Here's the sort of sewing I find on OR gear I have - please see pics.
