It's a good idea to wait, black flies take the fun outta everything.

Nice camera work. The fish-eye lens bends the trees..and at first I'm thinking all the trees were bent.
Thanks Randy, that cart was the worst! I think it would have been easier to carry that kayak... no joke.

Each year for the last three years I take my canoe to Lake Lila and meet a couple of friends from Massachusetts. It's such a beautiful area. My sons have come the last two years and they really look forward to the trip - it's a family tradition. They're already looking forward to this year's trip.
Thank you SS. It sure is a beautiful area, we really enjoyed the Raquette. What a great family tradition you've got started.

I'm a big flat water fan too. Anything above some riffles and I'm white knuckled!

So very nice!!! Russ and I did a snowshoe trip hang along the shores of Long Lake in March. I never get tired of the Northville Placid Trail! Well done.

Thanks for sharing. I love being up there. In fact, I will be going to the Adks this weekend, not in the same area though.

Thank you jerzybears. It would be incredible to see the place covered in snow.

Lucky you. This was my second trip to the ADKS. The first time was in 2000 and we hiked up Mt. Marcy. That was an eye opener for someone accustomed to the relative flatness of Michigan!
