Looking to the experts on cold weather setup. I've hammocked many times but never below 25degrees. I have a trip planned that will be anywhere from 0-15degrees (low). Wind will be as much as 15mph (estimated). Normally I would try for a sub-zero bag and an underquilt but I probably won't have time to get those items. So I want to run my setup by you guys to see if it's overkill, not enough or should work. Packing all this gear is another story but I digress.
Shelter: HH Ultralite Asym
-undercover with undercover pad
-overcover
-thermarest prolite4
-thermarest ridgerest (couple with above)
Bag:
-WM 20degree
-WM 35 used as a quilt on top of 20degree bag
Clothes:
-baclava
-dome perignon cap
-head to toe baselayer
-mtn hardwear compressor pants (puffy pants)
-fleece pullover
-down jacket
-thick gloves
I planned to use the hot waterbottle trick plus trying to use rain gear and possibly a bag liner as extra undercover insulation.
Thanks for any and all advice. So should this work, do I need more, or is this overkill?
