    my wait is over

After reading the posts here for over a month, I finally went out and bought some material. [COLOR="Red"]I AM FINALLY A HANGER!!! Thanks to all the advise that has been given me by everyone here, and from JUST JEFF'S SITE. I am now the proud owner of a black nylon gathered end hammock, Am planning to hang in it tonight to see how much insulation i need to stay warm. Forcasted 40 degrees for overnight, will let everyone know how it works out. AGAIN THANK YOU.

Oh man... for a minute there I thought we were going to be talking a red hammock. Nothing wrong with that understand but this can be such a stealthy crowd....
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

everything went great! temps got down to 36 with wind chill, and I was nice and toasty with just my coleman 20 degree bag. unfortunatly I had to get up early this morning. now I just need a tarp. Sleeping bag outer shell got a little damp from dew.

Congrats! Glad it went well for you. What kind of suspension did you put on your hammock?

nothing underneath you? Pad or quilt? That is a pretty impressive number to get down to in just a bag, congrats!

    suspension

Since this was may first time, I started out with some very lightweight 1/4 in poly cordage. Suprisingly it actually held for a little while I then switched to some old ratchet strap webbing about 1 in. I just had to try it out over night.

    sleeping system

no i didn't have a uq or tq, not to mention a tarp what can I say, the view was great and I am a little crazy As far as temp is concerned, I am a warm sleeper, and I have repeatedly used this bag snow camping without a pad. I would typically just set up my cheap coleman or wenzel or eureka 3 season tent directly on the snow, throw in my bag and call it good. Usually I sleep without any type of base layer I did wear some polypro bottoms and a lightweight hooded sweatshirt in the hammock. wanted to make sure I would be warm
