    Protecting My Electronic Prosthetic Leg

Here's a first for Hammock Forums...I have a prosthetic leg that absolutely cannot get wet. I also remove it when I sleep which isn't a problem in a tent but more challenging with a hammock. I'm thinking the safest place is directly under my hammock but that isn't enough protection. How would you fully protect it from the elements? My leg is about 40 inches tall and would also have a size 13 shoe or boot on it (the ankle doesn't flex). Any ideas?

Maybe try putting in a waterproof stuff sac or dry bad and suspending in under the hammock like a gear hammock would hang.

I'd go with either a trash compactor bag to stuff it in or place it in a gear hammock under the tarp and either beside or above your hammock.

Hang it from your hammock ridgeline. It will be under the tarp, off the ground, and within reach.

Maybe use a couple of cording loops on either end?

Custom cuben fiber dry bag! Wherever you decide to store it I would recommend the cuben dry bag because, as Doctari says "Murphy was an optomist."

If you don't have a hammock already, look at the Clark Hammocks. Not sure if your prosthetic would fit in one of their pockets, but it should give you an idea I think might work. It might even be possible to modify their pockets a bit to make it fit.

Yeah I bet a nice cusom made Cuban dry sack would work great. Luke makes great cuban gear at lukesultralight.com

I don't know what kind of hammock you have, but the perfect solution for you it seems to me is to get a WBBB.
Just put it in the foot box next to your other leg. That way it stays nice and dry inside with you and it's there ready to attach at a moments notice!
