I'd like to share my experience with Hammock Gear's customer service. I had initially ordered a 12 foot cuben fiber tarp with doors. The very next day I called Adam to check and see what his lead-time was like. He stated it was running about 3 weeks. In that conversation he asked me some questions about my previous tarp experiences, what kind of hammocks I was using, had I ever owned or used a cuben tarp etc...Through all of this Adam suggested I might want to go with the standard 11 foot tarp instead of the 12 foot since they are a little easier to manage, a bit less bulky, can be pitched lower to the hammock without hitting the suspension, can pitch with trees closer together, and still long enough for my 11 foot hammocks. He also mentioned a neat little door tie-back feature that he could add on as well. This sounded great to me.
All was well until...I received my tarp and took it out to a park to set it up and low and behold found I was mistakenly shipped a 12 foot tarp as I initially ordered. I was a bit bummed but I promptly sent an email explaining the situation and I received an email from Elizabeth the very next day apologizing for the error and that they would have my tarp made and shipped ASAP.
I received a shipment notification one week from that email and just received the tarp today and it's perfect and I'm a happy hammock camper! Even though an error was made, and I fully understand that mistakes happen they handled the situation very professionally.
This is a prime example of great customer service in my book and a company I will continue to do business with and recommend to others.
