In terms of easy set up, there is no advantage. Whoopies are slightly lighter and pack down somewhat smaller. Plus, as Shug says, its fun to say "whoopie sling". I actually think the warbonnet strap system is the easiest and most idiot proof setup out there. I switched to whoopies because I was hanging where there were a lot of sappy trees, and I like to be able to store my tree saps in a separate ziplock bag so sap doesn't get everywhere. If not for that, I probably would have just kept the stock system.

They are also fun to make and add an element of custom to your set-up ie color, length, etc......2 cents.

Ok i figured it was a weight thing. Warbonnet system is pretty easy thats for sure. I haven't ran into tree sap yet but thats a pretty good point.

It is a fun project, but its extremely addicting (just like everything else with this hobby). I have Whoopies, but I have seen and laid in a bb, and will be buying one for Xmas this year. I will be using the strap setup as it is the simplest system around...

It's also really cool to look at your suspension while in your hammock and marvel at how such thin cordage can hold you up.
