Welcome from another noobie ENO single nest member. I have been on many forums in my day and this one seems to be not only one of the friendliest, but also the most even distribution of women/men. Not sure if that is actually true or not, but that is what it seems like after being here a few days. One thing is for sure though, you will get plenty of friendly helpful advice here.
Dad of four hanging daughters here. Welcome to the club. There is more info around this site than you can digest. Just take your time soaking it all in and hang on for the ride.
As far as the question about her being an Eagle Scout as a female ... if I am reading the rules correctly, females can be part of Boy Scouts under their Venturing Scouting program, able to earn all of the usual awards. My two oldest daughters were highly disillusioned by what they experienced in Girl Scouts. The oldest dove into multiple varieties of dance, plus hiking and camping. The next does some dancing, but does cycling and camping, plus has asked to join a Venturing Scout group. She has <1 year until she can join.
After all the fun I had, I will be sprinting to the first meeting possible.

Not exactly correct. Boys who join prior to 18 can continue to earn their awards Girls get to earn the Venture only awards. Either way welcome to the forums.
