Two nights in rain with scouts

When camping at Kings Mountain State part in SC with my son's cub scout troop. We were the only two hanging....and the only two who stayed dry in the two nights of rain.

He uses Eno Double nest, ENO atlas straps, ENO bug net, ENO pro fly, Marrmot youth 30* bag, and KAQ jarbridge underquilt.

I use ENO Double Next, ANO Atlas straps, ENO bug net, Warbonnet Super fly (with dutchware tarp flys), Marmot womens 30* long bag and KAQ jarbridge underquilt.

My mom (the den leader) is the one in the tent, with the pink sleeves.

Yay for staying dry in the rain!

Just looking at your Mom in that tent makes my knees hurt.

    Glad you stayed dry.
Laying in a hammock, watching it rain is a good way to spend a day IMO.
    Time well wasted.
I'm betting there was a convert or two out of that Group.

After seeing our setups there were several who said they were thinking about it. We had a great time in the rain. The kids had a water balloon fight and did a lot of digging in the mud. My son got his clothes very wet and we changed clothes just before bed under the tarps and hopped in the sacks to sleep dry and warm. Several other kids had to sleep in wet clothes from their parents continually changing their wet clothes into dry clothes and using up all their dry clothes.

Ahh, learning about "warm when wet" clothing I assume. ;-) One of the best camporee's I was on was a rainy weekend. Most of us stayed dry and ate dry because we had a good setup for it. Won some award too. Those are the camping trips one remembers! I'm glad everyone survived and looks like had a good time. Thanks for sharing!
    YMMV
