Since you have a bridge hammock you might benefit from a pole mod tarp, or simply add some tie outs midway up the sides to allow more room inside the lowered tarp.
I'm thinking something like what wildernesslogics oldman winter tarp looks like with poles.
You can make some inexpensive non permanent pull-outs with contact lens cases, forget where I saw that most likely here in the D.I.Y. section.

Also fairly new so take it for what its worth.

I couldn't cost-justify it either but that sure didn't stop me! My favorite piece of gear.

My 80-year-old mother-in-law likes to say, "I deserve a little luxury. I've EARNED it." I don't pay much attention to what she says, but I like that one.

I carried the 5 lb. pack, the 24 oz. tarp, the 4 lb. synthetic 0 degree sleeping bag, and the unwieldy CCF pad for a couple of years. And then I decided that I deserved a little luxury - the cuben fiber tarp, the GoLite Jam 50L pack, and the HG UQ/TQ. I've EARNED it.
