sliver here, never camped in a hammock

    Hi,

I'm from Boulder, Co where I hike, fish, and camp out with my family. I usually car camp in a tent with my family and take my 25 year old son out for hiking trips. I got interested in hammock camping from poking around youtube and spent about a month trolling various vids. I watched Sean Emory's 10 part series for Noobs, which was fantastically informative. The extreme cold weather he camped in convinced me that hammock camping was feasible up here. I just bought a RidgeRunner, Spindrift, and SuperFly, which I'm planning on using the weekend after I get it. Yeah, I'm pretty stoked up about doing my first hang.

Nice to meet you all. :-)

Welcome from NC! You certainly are in a great area for this. Might suggest setting up and spending the first night or two in the yard (or at least somewhere near the trail parking lot). Videos and research make it look easy - but my first two nights were anything but! Hope your learning curve is faster! Oh, and congrats on some fine gear choices!

Welcome Silver, I spent some time in Littleton...fantastic area. I wish I started hammocking with the rig you ordered, I have been going the second hand / DIY route to save some pennies.
