    OES tarp review

I had a MacCat Deluxe as my go to tarp and recently sold it to get a HG cuben fiber tarp. I agree that the OES tarps are excellent quality, truly top notch. A couple years after I got my Deluxe I had inquired about a custom winter tarp. I had sent several emails and received no response. Bottom line...he lost a customer and I took my business elsewhere.

It's "Brian", although Brandon (Warbonnet) makes a pretty nice tarp too!

I won't say that nobody makes them as well as Brian, but that list would be very short indeed. Lots of things to be said about how Brian conducts his business and I've experienced it too, but there isn't much to be said about the tarps themselves beyond being reliably perfect. They are immaculate and tough as all get-out. I will order from Brian again, and I'll spend my time waiting with some grumbling about waiting. I forget all about it when the tarp does finally come in though.

I wish he was better at communicating, but his tarps speak volumes....once you get one, that is.
    Trust nobody!

Opps, I've always gotten those two names mixed up.

I like Brandon's tarps at Warbonnet too but I'm just partial to Brian's. I had trouble getting correspondence but he contacted me in time. His life changed and I believe it just overwhelmed him. It happens.

Excellent quality product, there's really nobody else that produces such a quality catenary cut tarp.

I do hope, though, that he improves his shipping speed/communications/general customer service - the cottage industry thrives from word of mouth - and it would be a shame for him to lose business given his product is of a superior quality.
Hoping I get an tarp soon also. Hell, even an email would give me a false sence of hope. When did you place your order? Maybe that will indicate where I'm at in line. Did you file the dispute with the CC company? Maybe that is what kicked him in the as$.

I have the maccat standard and love it. Good combination of cost, quality, and weight for me. Plus it has always kept me dry!

The website is updated to indicate the 10 X 10 are in stock. So it appears Brian is alive.

I placed my order last Saturday, and they arrived on Friday.

I'm positive the threat of filing a charge back moved things along for sure. Not that I like to go that route ever.

Now I get to use it on the AT after trail days this weekend.

That is enough for me. I'll be filling a dispute if I don't receive a shipping notice by Monday and receive the tarp by next Friday. I've given it enough time especialy when orders placed after mine get filled before mine. I have informed Brian via email. This guy is ridiculous. No amount of quality is worth supporting horrible customer service of this level.

Maccat standard works well for my WBBB. Takes some practice to get adequate coverage on the ends, but good tarp.
