Looking for cheap easy DIY UQ

Not much bread gettin going on right now and never sewed a day in my life. I'm pretty good at following directions and like to take my time to get things right the first time. Can't really afford an already made UQ so I'm looking for ideas to make a 3/4 UQ. I found a sticky ere that had a few designs but wanted to ask the masses on difficulty level/time needed. They all look pretty complicate to me but I'm sure once I get started, ill catch on.

    Thanks in advance!

What temperature range do you want to camp in?

I wouldn't take a no-sew pluq below 50, that that's pushing it. I could never get mine ot seal to the hammock very well, and ended up making a sewn one once I got a machine.

Cheapest insulation is a blue wal-mart pad, and very effective down to lower temperatures..

I don't mind learning to sew. I want 3 season so down to 20-30 degrees is ideal for ga. I won't be out in winter. I hate cold.

Is the blue wal-mart pad wide enough or do you need to put wings on it (segmented pad extender)
