I was just at the MAHHA and my DIY Gathered end hammock started to give me a little back pain right between my shoulder blades. Has anybody had this issue? Also is this related to the ridgeline?

I've never experienced it personally. I know of more people who hammock to relieve back pain. I'm guessing you're on the right track with thinking the problem might be in your current hang. Try adjusting the ridge line length and see what happens.
Is this shoulder squeeze? Look at the attached link and scroll down to see a solution: http://theultimatehang.com/2012/05/t...e-comfortable/
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
Could the problem be a short hammock. I am built kinda big (260lbs) and the hammock is 10ft gathered end with a 100in ridgeline.
My experience has been that too short a hammock will cause shoulder squeeze, but that would be shoulder pain obviously. I'm just throwing ideas out, but you could try shortening your ridge line a little. That should flatten your lay a little. If it makes it worse try making it a couple inches longer. If your ridge line isn't adjustable, take it off and change your suspension until the hammock is comfortable. Then measure how long a ridge line you need to get it that way every time.
