    Stopping in to say hello

Jocko here. Been a member for a while and after adequate reading I am ready to give hammock camping a go. Actually I convinced the Mrs. to come along also. We have another year left in Italy and we have seen countless places that would be great to stay for the night, but I am not one for dragging along the kitchen sink and a tent just in case. We figure that a small hammock campsite could be packed into a Rubbermaid tote and thrown in the car "just in case". For solo trips I can pack what I need along in motorcycle luggage. Excited? Yes. Going to give it a few backyard runs before a night in the woods? Absolutely.

    Ciao!

    welcome

Welcome to the forum Jocko. I'm in envy of your location. I grew up near there just outside of Aviano. In a town called Budoia. Wish I was back there.

I'm sure things have changed a lot, but I remember several places I would love to hang. Enjoy it while you can.

    welcome to the madness.

Always good when wife likes to hang too. Of course when I buy new gear, I am not buying for myself, I am buying to keep the wife more comfortable while hanging. Good thing she does not like pink camo.

when I go car camping with the wife I throw the hammock gear into Rubbermaid totes.

    Great minds think alike.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
