    Stretchless Hammock

I am looking for a hammock or material that will be virtually stretchless and it has to be able to hold 400+ lbs (I am currently at 375). Right now I am using an Eno DN and it is made of 100% nylon and where the bulk of my weight sits it has stretched the hammock body out and I have a "tub" effect making it difficult to get in and out of, once in i can get comfortable, but looking for something that won't stretch. what do you guys have for me?

I think warbonnet and dream-hammocks are the way to go if you want to buy one.

I bet you can get Brandon to make a double 1.9 (higher weight rating) if you asked.

You could make a table cloth hammock with material from the table cloth factory.
They have a polyester one that I would think has very little stretch (not sure about the weight ratings though).

Kevlar sail material has minimal stretch but may be prohibitivly expensive. Dacron sail material will stretch but not like nylon.
As the previous poster suggested, there is a DreamHammocks double layer model that's rated to 500lbs.
Have you considered adding a second ENO under your existing?

Dual Layers will distribute the weight more and reduce stretch as well; that is without a pad between layers.

I would recommend a dual layer dream hammock or Polyester table cloth.

Crinkle Taffeta from http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/category-s/149.htm Just pick your color. Perhaps not one as large as the link I gave you, but that's what I have and cut the length down to 12', then just whip the ends (no sewing really required). You'd certainly have plenty of room, I could do somersaults in mine, if I wanted to

It will certainly handle the weight. My son likes to test my fear skill in it all of the time and he swings the heck out of it. That would be a total of 360 and then with the force of the swinging that would be even more...not to mention the flying leap he likes to do into it, just to test my heart strength.

Wbbb 1.7 dbl, 300lbs for 3 weeks (every night) to date, working great.

Had my brother checked it out, he loved it and he's your weight.
He is also 6'4" and would be better served by the wbbb XLC.

I also have the gt dbl (darn similar to the eno dbl) and found that adding a ridgeline helped and I will be adding a knotty mod shock cord to head and foot ends.

Getting out usually involves swinging legs over, putting on shoes and walking the hammock back a little before standing up.

A diy 1.9 double would be even more stout.

I am 6'4" and about 280 lbs, and my dbl layer taffeta Dream Hammock DangerBird has almost no stretch, just like Pappa Smurf said. It is a very comfortable hammock for me. I recommend contacting him for his advice.

    Re: Stretchless Hammock

My first hammock, that I just got, is a WBBB 1.7 double.

At 6'3", 330lbs (on a 'lite' day lol), the hammock doesn't seem to stretch. I can't vouch for long term use, since I've only used it on 2 campout, but I haven't ended up touching the ground yet. I will say, the XLC could possibly be more comfy, but the WBBB will be my baseline.
