    Frontier era bridgeskin

So I'm a big follower of Dave Canterbury from the Pathfinder School and I just saw this video he put out about a bedroll setup he designed along with Duluth packs that once rolled out can be used as a cot, lean to tarp, and even as a bridge hammock! Now I realize being a canvas product this wont fit in with the modern tech ultralight crowd but for those of you out there that like to explore the primitive bushcraft side this will allow you to do so without having to become an evil ground dweller again Here's a couple videos of the bedroll in use. The first one shows cot and tarp use, the second one shows the specifics of hammock use.

    First prototype video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok6t_iPZDuc

    Second final product video:http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=76_FuL6t6s0

That's pretty slick. I was definitely not expecting him to use the tripods in that manner.

That bedroll looks awesome...if not quite heavy!! Might be one of the few ways I'll get my wife in a hammock, she seems to think a bridge would be superior to a regular hammock

I'm almost wondering if it would be possible to use the two tripods as hammock supports by just lashing the suspension ropes to the top area just like with a hammock sling chair except one hammock end on each tripod. I would think that provided the tripod sticks were large enough that it could work.

Yeah definitely not for the gram weenies! I think it would fit in perfect at a civil war reenactment or historical trekking though.

That's how I thought he was going to do it, don't see why it wouldn't work. Guess somebody better buy one and submit a full report

hmmmm... been thinking of a way to get a hammock into a teepee or a pyramid tent when I rendezvous. I had almost got okay with the fact that I was stuck on the ground at my reenactments, but maybe...

I used to use a bedroll years ago. Still love it, just not as much as I love my back . Haven't seen the new completed version video yet, but what I saw in the r&d video looked neat, something more than just a canvas ground cloth...
