    Greetings from Illinois

New to the forum and I have been enjoying reading all of the great ideas and innovations from contributing members around the world.

I purchased a $20 GTUL a few years back with a set of ENO slaps. Work and life had gotten in the way of using them until recently on an overnight with our local backpacking group. Since that trip and first overnight hang, I have done a bit of gear tweaking and lightening. For now, I have created two sets of equipment and converted to whoopie slings with toggles and poly straps in lieu of the ENO straps.

As for gear preference, I prefer light weight gear but enjoy some comfort items too. Not a minimalist preferring a 25-30# pack.

Outside of hiking and backpacking, I own a 1964 vintage camper that I enjoy taking out for gatherings.

Looking forward to learning and contributing in the future.

You've come to the right place to learn and do. Welcome to the forums from Indiana!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."
