    Weather woes...

Too dark to get pictures today, but going to take pics in the morning before I go to work.

Had a series of thunderstorms come through the area early this morning and early this evening. Left my TD hammock stand out last night, got a little rain on it this morning, but dried off through the day. Knew we had more storms coming tonight, so took it down late this afternoon.

Had a tree with several large limbs just behind our patio...storms that came through earlier split one of the limbs...crashed right over the fence and came down right through the area my stand had been.

Had I tried testing my hammock tonight in this weather...don't know that it would have been fatal, but it would have been BAD. Would have needed a whole new stand even if I'd just left it out there.

I'll post some before/after pics of me and the grandson in the hammock a few weeks ago, and what it looks like in the morning.

Added pics. The two with my grandson and I were taken a few weeks ago...the two of the tree were taken this morning.

Updated and posted the pics. Couldn't get them to post earlier today...sorry for the late update.

Really shows how close of a call that could have been. That healthy looking tree limb was actually as big around as my waist where it was attached to the main trunk. Once it came down, you could see that 3/4ths of it had been destroyed by ants...but from the outside, it looked healthy and green.

Scary stuff. Glad I hadn't decided to test out my hammock/tarp changes during the storm!!!

Yikes! Close call their Owl. Well, at least you don't have to worry about THAT limb any more.
