I end up waking up quite a bit in my hammock where I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow in the bed at home. However, I wake up groggy and dreading the day every morning coming out of the bed. I also have a stiff back and most every joint pops and cracks. In the hammock I wake up several times during the night to answer nature's call (probably the cold kidney area) but I pretty much hop out of bed with no soreness and very refreshed. I only wish I could replicate the effect in the bed at home.

Well it took me 5 days to finally get a full nights sleep in my hammock. I tried every night since last Saturday night with the first night being a miserable failure. NO SLEEP whatsoever!!! Sunday night was about the same so I took my butt to the bed. Monday and Tuesday was a little better, an hour here and an hour there. Wednesday was much better, I must have fallen asleep somewhere around 1am only to wake up around 4:30 with CBS (73* set on the AC). Thursday night was pretty nice, in the hammock at about midnight and woke up to the sound of my alarm clock at 6:10am (with my DIY Poncho Liner under quilt keeping the chill off). Never would have thought that at 73* I would need some insulation under me, but being an AC tech, I understand heat loss. I will be taking my UQ with me this weekend to the lake!! I hope tonight I can sleep better than last night and maybe get a little extra ZZZZZ's in the morning!! Thanks guys for the info. My wife asked if I was ever going to sleep in the bed with her anymore, I told her not until I kick this hammocks arse!! I couldn't let it beat me!!Ha!!

Sleep in your hammock a few weeks and your bed feels weird. Good job.

I still dont sleep soundly at night in the woods. The best sleep I had so far was when it rained all night and the rain on the shelter's tin roof made a constant "white noise" sort of sound. I usually sleep a few hours, toss a bit and go back to sleep. Im still waiting for the "go to sleep - wake up once to pee - go to sleep and wake up in the morning" night. I don't think it will ever happen.
