    Side sleeping

I am curious, cause I hope to upgrade hammocks this fall, if the Blackbird is comfy if you sleep on your side occasionally? I realize the footbox is for sleeping on your back but was curious about the side anyway.

It is for me, although I'm primarily a back sleeper. My lady, Genuine Draft, sleeps on her side and uses a Blackbird with some regularity. I'm 6' and she is 5'-nothin.

I'm 6FT 180lbs and have tried side sleeping in the WBBB. In a bed I am primarily a side sleeper. In the hammock I find I have to really pull the knees up to avoid putting pressure on the hips, that at some point becomes painful. It could be that I just haven't figured out the proper angle for the suspension, but in the hammock I spend most of my time sleeping on my back.

I have a WBBB 1.7 and a WL Lite Owl... and dig both. Primarily a back sleeper, however, I do find I can sleep on my side a lot better in my WL Lite Owl.

    Side sleeping

Im a big side sleeper, at least, thats how i get to sleep. My wife says I'm all over the place in the middle of the night.
But i defiantly sleep very well on my side in the BB. I hang the foot end just a little higher than the head, and make sure there is NO sag in the ridgeline. I use a pillow for my head and whatever extra article of clothing i have goes between my knees..
The presence of the calf ridge is usually always there, but i cant say it bothers me too much.
Btw im 6'4 and 166ish lbs.

I am primarily a stomach sleeper in a bed but in a hammock I am a back or side sleeper. I use a BB 1.1 dbl and 1.7 dbl and have no problem sleeping on my side (left or right). Most times I do not guy out the sides. I am 6ft2 and 275 lbs. My wife at 5ft 3 has been known to get completely turned around in her BB.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    side and stomach sleeping

I have a wbbb 1.1 double and cannot sleep on my back but do manage to side sleep in the warbonnet. The hardest thing is when it is cold it is hard to seal things when moving around. If you are a good back sleeper you will stay warmer in the winter. I have also noticed that I can stretch out diagonally as it has gotten warmer.I spent 3 nights last week in 50 to 60 degree weather and slept pretty good.I have yet to achieve "blissful" sleep but I do sleep out in my yard on work nights quite regularly.(family thinks I am crazy).I have hopes of becoming a back sleeper but change is tough when you have been sleeping a certain way for 50 years.

    Re: Side sleeping

I can NOT fall asleep in my bed unless I'm on my side... In my BB, sleeping on my back is blissful!

I can still side sleep, but I don't find it as comfortable as my back.
