Hi hammock friends! I made myself a grizz beak out of some scrap silnylon but it is a little bit small for what I wanted to do with it so my loss is your gain. (Actually, I hate the brown. There I said it.) Here are the particulars:
-one panel is green 1.1 oz sil the other is brown 1.1 oz sil
-the vertical edge measures ~50", the bottom is just over 36" (so theoretically you could pitch your tarp with a bottom opening of six feet and still get overlap of the beak) ps. for those of you who failed geometry that makes the hypotenuse ~62"
-the green panel has a seam in the middle of it as I was making it with scrap sil; it should work just fine but needs to be seam sealed
-tie outs are done with black grosgrain
-none of the seams are sealed and literally nothing will compel me to seal them for you
I am going to give it away since I was only making it for myself and it's not perfect and hey, it cost me nothing but a little time, some grosgrain and some thread. If you'd like a shot at it, please reply in the thread. I will pick a winner on Sunday at noon CDT. I am paying shipping so CONUS only please!
