Hanging in Big Sur and Coastal Redwoods

Went on a 5-day road trip with my sister camping at Big Sur and the Coastal Redwoods in Northern California. This was her first time camping and she had a blast.

Road trip starts

Wherever there wasn't a Redwood, the forest floor was covered in clovers and ferns

...the harder they fall. When these huge trees fall, the impact can be felt for up to 12 miles away

I got a car that I call Jenny, I take her out all the time and we always have a blast together even when we're alone.

Most crap firewood ever bought for $3 a faggot. Had to split with axe and baton into sticks to burn properly. Everything was generally wet and fire starting was challenging and smokey.

Made a scraper for the egg omelet we prepared the night before our journey back home

This green stuff that hung from the undergrowth was the only thing dry enough to take a spark believe it or not. I was unsuccessful.

ripcurlksm, Really great report. Like others have stated, I too miss Cali. Lived there for 18 years. So much diversity. I try to get back at least once a year and wheedle some kind of camping/backpacking from my relatives and friends there. Glad to see you appreciate where you live.
