What i have done with success is open the tailgate and attach the suspension to one of the tailgate suspension anchors...they are designed to hold quite a bit of weight

    The One Tree Hang

Thanks for the great ideas but I lucked out. The rain caused cancellations at the campground so I found the only free site with 2 trees. It was meant to be for my first hang. Sniffle sniffle.

Sure! I did it once! Here in Brazil the 18 wheeler truckers even hang their hammock under their truck in the back of the trailer! There are even trucks that hang their hammock inside the cabin! I will have to try to get a picture or video clip of that!

    Interesting solution.

Another option might be a bipod made of two timbers to manage the sway and then secure it over the downed tree. Something like this but a little more heavy duty. (Pretty lady not included)

I have hung from a single tree before. It just so happened to have two large branches about 90* from each other, about 7 feet up.

Do it all the time. Hood up to a telephone pole and truck, palm tree and truck. Use the holes in the corners of the bed of the pick up. No worries. I am 270. Corner fence post and my truck. Often at the beach me and a buddy will hook to one tree and each end of the truck. Also have used the replacement bumper on the front of my truck to attach too. Have had 6 hammocks attached to my truck at one time.
