    Need some DIY tips

Hi, I'm fairly new to the hammock world. I bought a hammock about a year ago to just use from time to time to use as a way to relax on a nice day. As of late I have started to become interested in hammock camping. I'm a beginner and don't really know much about hammock camping so I can use all the help I can get. This is kind of a general question, but could anyone give me any DIY tips for bug nets, underquilts, tarps, portable camping stands, etc.?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Just check the DIY section for postings on all sorts of DIY stuff or do a search.

If you are new to sewing, start with making some stuff sacks as you never have enough anyway and its a good way to learn how to sew.

we do not use sewing machines...we use thread injectors and the cottage vendors with their commercial grade machines are using textile impalers.

I just go some rip stop fabric in with more on the way with plans to make several DIY hammocks with mods that have been discussed on the forum and some other stuff as time allows and what I feel capable of doing.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

In the DIY section of the Forum, there is a sticky that contains a lot of ideas for DIY projects.

The thread is called "Ultimate DIY Project List"

I'm big in DIY....but you're being really broad there. Can you be more specific in where you want to start first so that you are not so overwhelmed? Many of things have "stickys" in the DIY section. You can also do a search, and try to search for it in "threads" and then in "posts". Google search can also be helpful when even trying to search the forum (as many times you end up right back here).

You have your hammock and I'm assuming you already have your tree straps and suspension pinned down. At this time of year your next bet would be bugnet, some kind of UQ, and tarp.

I'll start out with bug nets and just a couple of links to help you out. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=39983

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=33714

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=58644

UQ; the same thing with a few links to start you out:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=23881

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=61016

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=44783

This one is an Under Cover, but considering your location, it may serve you well for now: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=36059

It's really all here on the forums. Just be more specific and if you can't find, then we will certainly help lead you in the right direction.

At some point you will want to become a donating member. Best $10.00 ever spent. It allows access to threads on backpacks, clothing, camp kitchen, cutlery, paddling and a lot of other info. Welcome aboard.
