    Got an McCat Delux

Picked up a MCCAT delux that came today! I leave on a trip tomorrow. I am pretty psyched about having it this weekend. I bought some niteize figure 9 carabiners for the ridgeline and ordered some STL from the Jacks. The STL's arn't here yet. I need some line to tie out the stakes on the corners. I have some aynthetic "All purpose" clothesline that is 3/16 of an inch in size. Way too big for my guy lines as a perminant option. I know REI has some cordage that is much smaller. What say you? Use what I got or make a run to REI for the smaller stuff knowing I have STLs on the way from the Jacks?

Go to Home Depot and buy some of the Mason Line. It's light and very visable; cheap too!

Yeah, that stuff is a bargain. I've laid that line for underwater dive sites here in MN and it's held up well. Some of it that I put down has been underwater for years and is still in good condition. I'll have to try using it when I get a tarp.

That's what I'm using too. Seems to work just fine.

I'm waiting for MY MacCat Deluxe right now. I'm a little jealous although I won't be going backpacking this weekend, so I guess it doesn't matter. I'm just anxious.

    HEY ASHMAN,
I picked up some line at a army barracks store it's rated for a hundred pounds and it's really thin. about the size of speers no tangle line. came in a 100 foot role for all of 2 dollars. its like a thinner version of paracord with internal threads.
