No, the down quilt is really light and extremely compressible. Any synthetic insulation would be less compressible and probably heavier. I could see possibly making an even lighter top quilt which would only be rated to 40 degrees. The top quilt I made is almost too warm for spring/summer backpacking.Originally Posted by BigRed77
