Dutch buckle and Whoopie

Oh...yeah you could since your buckles are just girth hitched to the loop. With the new style cinch buckles Warbonnet uses they are actually threaded onto the loop before it's tied so you'd have to untie the knot making the loop to get them off which is kind of a pain.

Thank Pizza I think I'll go with Dutch's whoopie slings w/hooks two different colors and a set of Dutch buckles on the 1" strap I have.
Again Thanks helped a lot ! One thing about this forum a lot of help for a guy starting out!

thats my exact prob, dont want to take apart the lines on a $150 hammock, thinking of putting the hack saw to them so i dont have to untie?? but on the other hand the wbbb system works real good so Ill most likely just keep moding my enos and such

if its not broke dont fix it right? thats why I moded my eno right out of the box with woopies and dutch gear "cause it was broke when i recieved it

Here is a YouTube video I threw together to show how to remove the stock amsteel loop/webbing from a Warbonnet Blackbird and replace with a new loop for Whoopie Slings. One thing I didn't mention in the video is that you can skip the continuous loop altogether and just girth hitch the whoopie sling directly around the gathered end and threading it through the ridgeline loop. This would be a bit lighter of an option for the gram weenie though you lose the drip ring feature and easy detachment of your whoopie's.

The ideas and gear that is offered by Dutchwaregear.com all comes from the philosophy that our customers want lighter and easier gear. We went with the three options to help satisfy all. The cinch buckle is webbing based, extremely strong and simple to use but it has a weight penalty. The Dutch buckle is a hybrid between a webbing suspension and rope as allows the webbing to be adjustable through the buckle and a whoopie sling for further adjustability going to your hammock. The lightest and in my opinion easiest is the whoopie hook on whoopie slings. I use 4' hugger (have a 5' and 6' that I can take along as well if we are headed to potentially bigger trees. I use a small 8" loop through the channel of my switchback and the hook spliced onto the adjustable end of the sling. While you do give up some minimum distance with whoopie slings it is not that much and the weight, less bulk and ability to pack the entire wet and/or sticky suspension away from my hammocks is well worth the minimum distance penalty.

Another nice thing with the Dutch Buckle is you can setup in between trees closer together and do away with one Whoopie or even both if need be. I'm car campin' right now and my tree spacing was limited. I removed one Whoopie from an Amsteel loop on one end of the hammock and looped it right over the buckle. Left the Whoopie on the other end and that did the trick. You can do this with the marlin spike too but the buckle let's you adjust all the way to the tree trunk if you had to.
