Great gift to yourself. This is going to be great fun for you. I took up hanging because, it makes me feel free, plus it is not a major pain to get up off the ground.

Just wait until you get to swing in your first storm, it is just great. ENO dbl was my first hammock. Then I switched to a different brand, when I decided I was going to start hanging all the time.

Congratulation on the weight loss, it is not a easy task, and you have done great. Welcome aloft and to a whole new perspective. Try to find a local hang and meet up with some fun HF folks and enjoy...

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. I'm slowly getting everything I need, haha. Today I got the bug net and atlas straps in, now just waiting for the dang hammock itself. If it gets here tomorrow, I plan on setting up a hang at a local park for the first time out.

Yesterday I did hit my first goal, 299.6 on the scale, first time in 12 years, felt good. Now on to 280 by August, whooo!

Well today I got my hammocks in, wasn't expecting them until tomorrow, so whoohoo!

I set mine up in the backyard. At first, sitting real low, butt on the ground so I went up a few notches on the Atlas Straps. Laying diagonally feels awesome. I have a little concern about my angle, hoping it's right and all to not put too much stress on my straps or hammock, I'm still really nervous an afraid of ripping it, even though I'm 100 pounds under the weight limit for the hammock. I figured after I sleep in it a night, and after I get my dutch biners in it'll be a lot different, hoping at least.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who's experienced this, but it's still a little un-nerving getting in an out of this baby.
