I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

What about a suspension that works with the Dutch hooks and clips? How would that work, do the hooks or clips need to be sewn into both UQ and Hammock? One or the other?
Like we need moar reasons to buy DW

this is JUST the solution i've been looking for. I rigged up my JCP UQ with the end tensioners the way the new HG quilts do, only now I can cut 1/2 the shockcord out of the equation.
Great Idea! Thanks!
I added a close-up picture to mu post #7 above showing how the pulley is attached to the shock-cord. The cord goes through the channel to the other end of the quilt and is attached to that other end. When the Zing-it cord is attached to the hammock, it pulls on the pulley, which stretches bith legs of the shock-cord. This puts tension all along the edge of the quilt, holding it to the side of the hammock, and pulls on the end of the quilt, keeping it from bunching up and getting shorter.

I kinda reversed what you have, MADD. I just made up another suspension with cord on the inside of the channel - 36" long and made two 18" long pieces of shock cord and tied the ends to the cord. This makes a 66" long suspension line (2 knots ate up 6" of the total). Ran it thru the channel and it fits fine with about 10 inches of adjustment before it gets too tight - this is on an 11' hammock. I'm sure I'll gain another foot of adjustment with my Blackbird being shorter.
So instead of over 60" of shock cord per side, I have 36" on each side. That cuts the weight down a bit more and saves a lot of shock cord. You can cut out even more shock cord with a shorter hammock. Playing around with the size of the triangle thingies or whatever you use can shorten it even more.
Hope the pictures make it easy to see how it's done.

I like the short cut you used on the shockcord!

My enLightend Equipment UQ uses linelocs and i love how they work. Im eager to see how they mesh with dutch's ridgeline UQ hanger as i dont like the prussiks i currently have.
Love'n the bobbin pulleys Mike! Great idea.
Good luck,

Thanks MADD! Had to do it this way as this particular linelok wont work with thin cord - That little bit of shock cord is just enough to "give" when climbing in and out of the hammock. It also seems to tighten up the UQ better - not as much slack as a long piece of shock cord.
I'm going to to try cord/shock cord on the foot and head ends in a bit.
Yeah, I've gotten over the prusiks - I keep going back to lineloks for the simplicity.
