I inherited a bunch of poles from several tents with the "urethane cancer" (love that term). One was from an old REI backpacking tent so it uses shorter sections. I'll probably make a pair of these using those shorter sections when I get a chance. Hopefully this mod works equally well with the Cloudburst.
The next project will be rigging my poncho up as a beak for the head end.
Just a word of caution.
Do not use the pole mod on the tarp when using a TurtleDog hammock stand. I found that with sufficient winds, the fly was pinched between the pole mod and the ridge pole of the hammock stand. This caused an area to be scuffed and could possibly tear a hole in the tarp. I didn't notice any water leaking through the spot, but I'll be putting some seam sealer on it anyway.

Ordered this set up tonight, now to find some webbing.

I put in an order this morning for the same set up as shown by the OP. This is a great mod to the SF. I look forward to using it with my XLC.
I just ordered a Ridge Runner, but was waiting on ordering a tarp. After seeing this, I know what I'm getting. This looks fantastic.
Grubartez, I have the RR with the SF and I did this mod the other day, man it opens it up. Works just fine.

If using the arrows, use nocks on them and tie 1/8 bungie chord to it and loop thru the nocks,,works for me last couple of years on the same set of arrow pieces.
I cannibalized an old tent for the tent poles, took them apart, and shortened 3 of the segments to make them 54". Then, instead of making the web and grommet thing, I tied a ~4 inch loop of cord with a large zinc washer on it to the pull outs. It looks like this: c===O
And, it's adjustable.

Has anyone tried a CF version of this? Might not work since they come in 17" vs 18"(al) lengths.
