Garage sale tarp and WOOT hammock

Playing around a little bit tonight in the basement with my WOOT hammock and a tarp salvaged from a garage sale tent with no poles. I received my first shipment of amsteel last week and haven't stopped making woopies since
I concede that the tarp is very heavy, but especially for the price tag I think it's going to make a decent winter setup?
I just rigged up a continuous ridge line with figure 9, with a prussic loop to each end.

    Suggestions are very welcomed

Garage sale tarp and WOOT hammock

Thanks, yes it's from a ginormous three room tent. Could be interesting in a KS wind

The price tag associated with hammock tarps sent me down the road of trying tent flies, and I never got it to work. A tent fly that kept me dry as a bone when attached to the tent didn't work at all for hammocks. I could never get it taut, water would pool up in places, and I'd get wet. I eventually gave up and bought a real tarp.

I came to realize that you can do fine with a cheapo hammock or bugnet, but the tarp is one place you can't compromise, if you want to stay dry.I hope you have better results than I did.
