Fund a new hang angle by mistake

I was leading a hike through a state forest yesterday - it was hot and humid. when we reached the leanto where we stopped for lunch, I rushed a bit in hanging my hiking hammock.

I should have wrapped the tree straps another turn around the trees because the distance was not enough to engage my ridgeline.

Too hot to bother re-hanging I climbed in and found that it was even more comfortable than when hung with the ridgeline as I had originally configured it.

The first pic is from yesterday - you can see the slack in the ridgline. the second is from a few weeks ago with the original ridgeline fully engaged.

Great that you had your AAhh moment! In that second picture, was your rideline sat at 83% the hammock length (from suspension point to suspension point)? It looks short is why I ask. So what % do you think you are at now?
