    I just had to share

After waking up in puddles in tents for so many years, this is a huge success for me...

+1 on that one. Most of the group hangs I've been on in the spring through fall, have all had rain on at least 1 of the days.

    Cheers

It rained all night last night on a quick overnighter at 1200 feet and I stayed dry. The sides of my hammock did get wet but that is because I was 1) using a small tarp 2) had set it too high and 3) the weatherman lied. (10 percent chance of rain!)

I have a Tadpole tarp ordered and on its way here. Let it rain, baby!

That's one of the reasons that I switched to an hammock: if you're getting wet from underneath in an hammock, you have bigger problems than just getting wet.

Congrats! Never liked a tent floor in the rain. Or worse someone wanting to run their fingers down the tent wall to play with the rain drops... GRRRRR!!!!

You're in Oregon, hanging at 1,200 feet (which probably means west of the crest of the Cascades), and you believed a 10% chance of rain.
