    Greetings from Colorado

    Howdy!

I'm Sunwolf. I backpack. I came to hammocking later in life after recognizing a flaw in my backpacking style: I tend to crank hard all day and stumble into camp exhausted and there's nothing worse than having to wander around for an hour after a long day looking for a suitable tent site in the rockies. I sleep very well in tents. I enjoy my tent and all the supporting gear I've managed to accumulate. But my breaking point came earlier this year after postholing through the rotten snow of the Buffalo Peaks all day and then having to settle for an...um...imperfect tent site. I figured there had to be a better way. And here I am.

On May 22 I ordered a cosmetically blemished superfly ($15 off...thanks Brandon!), a winter yeti, a winter mamba, and a 1.1 dl BB. As you can see I tend to jump into a good idea with both feet. None of this toe-in-the-water stuff for me! This will be my first hammock ever.

I want to thank the members of this site, particularly Water Monkey, Shug, Grizz, and anyone else who uploaded youtube vids/reviews (I am a visual learner). I registered here some time ago but because of the comprehensive and thoughtful quality of the posts on this site I haven't needed to ask any vital questions. Researching here has been very rewarding and again, thank you all!
